My final project for my Fall 2024 Promotional Strategy class was to rebrand Major League Pickleball, including creating a new logo and mock-up advertisements and social media posts. My class partnered with MLP who expressed that they want to expand their audience into younger generations.
This logo stays true to the current brand colors of MLP in which I used the same hex codes for the burnt orange and navy blue colors, and I incorporated a standard pickleball color hex code for the center pickleball. I wanted to utilize the 2 most iconic parts of pickleball... the ball and the paddle. It's clear what the logo is related to, and catches the eye since pickleball is becoming more "trendy" for younger people. The goal is for a younger person to recognize the paddle or the pickleball, see the letters "MLP" and understand that pickleball has major leagues. It's simple, it's exciting, it's recognizable, and is true to the MLP current brand standards structure.
This ad is designed to be a poster or a magazine ad. The goal would be to market it towards magazines that younger people read, on paper or digitally, such as Sports Illustrated, Cosmo, People, Elle, or US Weekly. The poster could be displayed at bus stations, in subway stations, or at colleges/restaurants.
This ad is meant to be displayed on a billboard or online through programmatic advertising. It shows younger people playing pickleball, it's bright and eye catching, and it displays the logo and website link.
This represents a mock-up of what an Instagram post could look like. It shows players of different ages tapping paddles to say "good game," and also includes the updated MLP logo, website (which would also be included in the social media bio), and the slogan. This post is simply meant to build up hype and to create excitement from those who see it.
